Generator Installation
Willington, CT

Route 32 storm-corridor demand

Willington\’s Route 32 corridor between South Willington and the Tolland line takes 1-2 ice or wind events per year that drop tree limbs across overhead service drops. The pattern is consistent enough that most Route 32 households we work with eventually conclude a whole-home generator is cheaper than rebuilding freezer contents twice per decade. We dispatch from 42 Pinney Hill Rd, ~5 minutes from the heart of the Route 32 corridor.

Well pump + septic + freezer load profile

Most Willington households are on private well water and private septic with grinder pumps. Generator sizing has to carry the well pump\’s surge load (typically 240V, 2-3HP submersible), the septic pump cycle, freezer compressor restart, HVAC, and the rest of the panel. The default Willington install is a Generac 22kW; rural-load households often jump to 26kW for headroom.

Pre-1960 farmhouse panel coordination

Several Willington Hill and west-Willington farmsteads still run pre-1960 main service. A generator install typically becomes a generator + 200A panel upgrade combined-permit job. We coordinate the Eversource meter-pull window so both happen in a single inspection cycle, saving the homeowner 2-3 weeks vs. sequential permits.

HQ-dispatched response time

Willington is the only city in our service area where the truck is in town. Same-day response is standard; same-hour response is common for emergency-tier generator failures (transfer switch stuck, no-start, controller fault). For routine installs, we typically book 5-10 days out depending on Eversource permit turnaround.

What we install — Generac & Kohler

Both Generac and Kohler whole-house standby generators are CT-popular. Generac has the larger CT dealer network; Kohler tends to run quieter. We’ll walk you through both for your Willington load profile.
