Tolland County + Eastern CT Up to $1,000 Bill Credit We File the Paperwork Free Same-Day Estimates

1. Is your home an Eversource residential electric account in CT?

Check the top of your electric bill — if it says Eversource, that counts.

2. Are you installing a Level 2 (240V) charger from Eversource’s approved list?

Tesla Wall Connector, JuiceBox, ChargePoint Home Flex, Emporia, and Wallbox are the five we install most.

3. Are you willing to enroll in the Managed Charging Program?

Eversource shifts charging to off-peak hours; your car still charges overnight. Enrollment is required for the rebate.

4. Will a CT-licensed electrician do the install with a pulled permit?

Eversource requires a CT E-1 or E-2 license holder and a permitted, inspected install. DIY doesn’t qualify.

5. Does your electrical panel have room for a 50–60A breaker?

Most approved chargers want a 50A or 60A breaker on a dedicated circuit. Homes on 100A service often need a panel upgrade first.

Answer all five questions to see your result.

Rebate Checker FAQ

How much is the Eversource EV charger rebate in CT?+

Up to $1,000 per home as a bill credit for installing a pre-approved Level 2 charger, plus an additional $100–$200 per year in bill credits for enrolling in the Managed Charging Program. The credit typically posts 6–10 weeks after a complete submission. Program terms change, so TJF Electric confirms the current amounts as part of every estimate.

What disqualifies me from the Eversource EV rebate?+

The most common disqualifiers: a charger that is not on the Eversource approved list, a DIY or unlicensed install (a CT E-1 or E-2 license number is required on the invoice), skipping the electrical permit and inspection, missing install photos, and not enrolling in the Managed Charging Program — enrollment is required for the $1,000 rebate itself, not just the bonus credits.

Does the Eversource rebate cover a panel upgrade?+

No — the $1,000 rebate is for the charger circuit only. About 1 in 4 EV charger installs also need a panel upgrade, usually because the home is on 100A service. Panel upgrades are sometimes partially covered by separate Eversource energy-efficiency incentives, and we tell you what stacks during the free estimate.

Does TJF Electric handle the Eversource rebate paperwork?+

Nearly all of it. We pull the permit, complete the install, pass the inspection, and provide the stamped invoice with our CT license number and all required install photos — a complete, ready-to-upload package. The final submission is a quick upload from your own Eversource account (about 10 minutes), and the credit typically posts 6–10 weeks after a complete submission.
